A replay with the same key restoring the same historical version (the {version} in the path) returns the original restored version unchanged, regardless of expected_source_revision; the same key naming a different historical version is 409 {"error":{"type":"conflict","code":"idempotency_key_reuse","message":"this key was used for different input"}}. A stale expected_source_revision on a genuinely new request is the separate 409 source_revision_conflict.
